A new study from UC San Diego says that there's a 50% chance Lake Mead will be dry as a bone in 13 years.

Ya know, Lake Mead, the country's largest man-made reservoir, the one that supplies water and power to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and a slew of other cities.

Yup.

I guess the positive side is that we won't have to worry about Hoover Dam collapsing.

Actually, from what I understand, the pressure of all that water pushing the dam into the rock wall on either side is part of what supports the dam.

Gosh.. people in LA might have to landscape using plants suited to the area rather than expansive lawns and tropical looking landscapes.
