Gotta say, the iPhone's camera is great... for a phone camera. For most settings, it works perfectly well. For things like this, not so much. That said, when you're looking at Yosemite Valley, it's pretty much a given that you'll never take a shot that's better than what's already been done.
Not quite. Upper Falls does do that earlier in the year, but by now it's far too warm (it was about 60F the day I took those pics). There's still a fuckton of snow sitting at the bottom, though. What you see is that plus the falls turning into mist by the valley winds.
...and I'm pretty unimpressed with her camera too. The Coolpix line used tone some damn good cams. Now it seems to have gone the way of resolution über alles. The pics are far from horrid, but the fact that they're no better than what I can take with my phone says a lot. We were both wishing we'd had your camera.
